About Jeffery L. Paris
I’m Jeffery L. Paris, founder of PhpOG. I’m a veteran developer, teacher and writer, and a United States Navy veteran. For more than 26 years, I have built and repaired practical web systems in corporate and independent environments.
The road behind the work
I was raised in southwest Ohio with both worldly and city experience. I learned early that progress often requires endurance, self-reliance and the willingness to build a road that does not already exist. My service in the United States Navy strengthened the discipline, responsibility and directness that still shape my work.
I built my development career through practical systems, real hosting environments, small-business needs, custom PHP applications, server administration, APIs, databases and the kinds of production problems that cannot be solved by presentation alone.
Why I built PhpOG
I created PhpOG to preserve practical PHP craftsmanship, teach the work behind the code, share free resources and document what I continue learning through independent projects. The Interactive PHP Academy welcomes beginners while the libraries and technical writing remain useful to experienced developers.
I build with procedural PHP, MySQL or MariaDB, Apache, local assets and vanilla JavaScript. I apply the same philosophy to the content: fewer layers, clearer explanations, responsible security and no empty promises.
